I stopped reading at "interface clunkiness" and didn't care for the rest of the article. I can't say anything about Win8 tech-wise but sure as hell it has no clunky interface. It's quite intuitive rather.

Having read more than enough in such forums I'd say you can savely ignore 90-99% of the input. The 1-10% of legitimate input are covered by proper bug- and playtesting. Ongoing bug- and playtesting in the case of an online-game. There's too much bs in such boards.
