The last time I had an HP laptop, the Mobo melted somehow, but HP was kind enough to fix it for me... And screw up the OS reinstall before sending it back. I thought about sending it back and making them fix it, but I had a copy of WIN7 laying around so I did it myself. Needless to say I am done with HP.

@Eruanno: I guess in essence you would be pwning the movie studios when ripping DVDs, not Apple. But it is the best theory I could find.

I tried this, and it saves me about 10 pixels from the regular view. I try to keep a lean browser to begin with.

@bsh0544: Sometimes I get the urge to have two phones, one a smart phone for data use, and some cheap prepaid one to use for talk.

@Patrick Van: I used to rip DVDs on a Pentium III back in the day, usually took 12-15 hours. Good times.

@Algerad: The GUI interface of Handbrake can encode batches, at least it can on the Windows side.

@Eruanno: @sjayawar: some speculate that it is a play on the words "pwn apple", changed to pineapple.

@Springo: Update: I looked a little closer and I do have the D250, and I will admit, sitting in class it does come in handy. I have dual 20" monitors in my room so I am a little spoiled by screen real estate, so perhaps I shouldn't be so hard on the small screen size, you kind of get used to it.

@Springo: I think mine is the D150, but I am not completely sure. If you do decide to get one, try and get one with a 6-cell battery, the 3-cell batteries are worthless.

@jimmcclarty: I think because they used to offer full feeds in RSS readers, but a few months ago they switched to truncated feeds, so in order to avoid an uproar of angry readers, they offered the full feed to those who wanted it.

@Springo: I have an Acer Aspire One and it works fine with either Ubuntu or Jolicloud. IMO netbooks are not worth it, just get a 13" with an extra large battery.

@digitmint: I am kind of losing faith in Giz lately. After the iPhone 4 business I don't go over there anymore, that and the iPad coverage pushed me over the edge. If they want to be the TMZ of gadget blogs, that's cool I guess, but not what I am looking for.

@APer3Caper: at this point there isn't another ship to jump to. There are other sites that offer a social atmosphere, but they all have low usage. Just pull of all of your personal info but don't delete your account if you use it to talk to people.

@smcallah: It was from a third party, so I can't really blame Amazon in this case. I forget who the seller was, but it is still ridiculous.

I would pay $10 for hulu and netflix to combine into one superconglomerate of media streaming awesomeness. But I already pay for netflix, so sorry Hulu.

@whiteflea: What is even more awesome is that it is true!

@minibeardeath: Well, by that I mean I do not put my address, phone number, pictures, anything like that. Facebook is just another medium of communication, but I don't trust it.

@wickedcupofjoe: Both of those processors are going to be overkill for the activities you described. So if I were you I would base the decision on the system with the better video card first, which will help with your Photoshop needs. Secondly look at RAM.

@jswilson64: I bought an adapter from Amazon a few weeks ago for my xbox, took 11 Days! to ship. Not to get to my house, 11 days to put it in a box and get it out the door. I ordered it on the 9th, it has yet to arrive.

@MaxellDVD1: As DJ Khaled would say- "We da Best!!"
