I’m a little bit conflicted about this. While I agree this whole thing is a bad look for Jay-Z, I find it hard to side with either Eric Reid or Kaepernick completely.

Jay-Z claimed to be “Che Guevara with bling on” (a contradiction to be sure). That said, as bad as this looks, he’s far from the first prominent Black person to monetize racial injustice for personal gain.
I look forward to Jake Tapper and the rest of CNN to quote this study incessantly every time Bernie Sanders or a surrogate of his campaign appears on that channel.
Credit birthers with this much: Article II, section 1 of the U.S. Constitution does require that the president be a natural born citizen. There is no provision in the Constitution barring “racists,” real or alleged, from serving in any office. One of these theories is adopted mainly by Joe Blows who’ve spent too…
A corporate Calzone eh? I feel so bad for anyone who doesn’t live in the delivery range of a mom and pop pizza place.
Every story I read about Trump being some combination of a lying, petulant, bigoted dimwit, I keep thinking about how all of his bullshit will fade into our collective memories as delightful anecdotes in the same way G.W. Bush’s presidency has.
Missy for damn sure! Hell, if we’re just making arbitrary lists, I need Da Brat in the top 50 just for the Funkdafied album, which is a classic!
Also no Kool Keith?!
The lack of KRS-One on this list makes it completely invalid. Also, Ghostface and Inspecta Deck are way too low.
Tituss Burgess is a goddamn treasure! Conversely, Andy Cohen is an overrated personality and an opportunist whose done a great job exploiting and capitalizing Black culture.
Maybe I’m just tired of the shitshow that is the Trump presidency, but I’m sick that the response to his bullshit mostly comes in the form of strongly-worded letters highlighting Trump’s greatest racists hits and platitudes about how we as Americans must “Rise above hate”.
According to the White House, the agreement would require migrants from Honduras and El Salvador—two of the three countries in Central America’s Northern Triangle—to apply for asylum protection in Guatemala rather than at the U.S. border, if they pass through Guatemala on their way to the U.S.
Updated: 7/27/19, 3:35 p.m.: Like the class act that he is, Rep. Cummings responded to the president’s tweets, expressing a willingness to work with the president despite Trump’s vile descriptions of his district:
They’ll never admit it, but It’s clear conservatives are trying to get her killed.
Between Diamond and Silk and the Hodge Twins, Trump has his Black “celebrity” stooge/sycophant squad on lock.
In addition to having a very entertaining show, Dan LeBatard has never been shy about telling truth to power. He’s also has a great track record of providing a platform for Black people and other people of color. Ask Jemele Hill, Bomani Jones, Ihmi Elhassan, Dominique Foxworth Pablo Torre and Mina Kimes to name a few.
What else would you have these networks do? Actually discuss pertinent issues that directly impact the lives of Americans (climate change, health and wealth-related issues)?
Fair enough, but they don’t take money from corporations or corporate lobbyists, which means the candidates they support will be working to serve the interests of the people instead of the powerful and well-connected.
