ha - well I am due to meet her at a fan event in October (as sure as guests are with schedules and what not, as she may cancel) maybe I will be brave and ask her myself :-) (and try not to blush too much!)

Have said the same thing above but - perhaps she got it done after, but Iyari had a tongue piercing when i met her at a convention in 2003 - we mentioned something about it (so long ago now, i'm not sure what we said) and she didn't have it in at the time and put it back in right there in front of us.
