I used to live in Westport, CT. The roads up there, if you head towards Pound Ridge in Westchester, are twisty, hilly, run along horse farms, and are very nice, esp. now that spring is coming about.

Why not head out east on Long Island, for a ride to Orient Point or Montauk or in that direction? Side roads on the north shore are nice. But, distance yourself when you take a break!

Exactly. I consider myself to be a “true rider” but I would not consider every time the right time to ride. I live in the NYC metro area so both traffic and weather considerations are always a factor.

FYI, NYC’s MTA buses and subways connect in Queens to NICE buses (Nassau Inter-County Express) which services parts of Long Island, which require separate fares. NJ Transit is the same. Detroit is not the only city with such a system.
