It’s so funny, in a horrible way, that they are making the same mistakes the centrist Democrats made. Their partisan colleagues, however, aren’t nearly so forgiving as Democrats tend to be, and will find their caviling unpleasing and disqualifying.

I keep vacillating back and forth about this.  On the one hand, it’s probably good that I can still be outraged by this stuff.  On the down side, all of this despair and outrage is eroding my personality.

Agreed - there are some issues, namely civil rights, which as a country we decided transcend what a state, or local community, decide upon. What’s scary is to think our new Supreme Court will now have the ability to green light efforts to roll that back on the federal level. Then I think what you’ll see is a country…

I think things are going to become more local. Look at California, long ahead of where the country (as a whole) is on many issues. Legalized retail weed started in Colorado, Washington, and Oregon and it’s now spreading, making federal laws basically worthless and unenforceable. People realizing they have more power…
