Next step: figuring out how to make the piano keyboard function as a computer keyboard...

@MHIllyer: I use catchall addresses on a lot of my domains... that way I can use [NameofDomainI'mVisiting.com] @ kondrik.com and if I start getting spam, I know exactly where it's coming from, 'cause the name of the domain that misused my information is easily found in the address that they send the spam to.

But how does it resolve for addresses which "technically" aren't "real" because they don't exist, but the domain they're on has a "catch-all" configured so mail to "undefined" addresses is still delivered to a "real" address?

.

@motorhead84: Not true. I have a gV account that is used as an inbound fax line for my company. You just have to have some sort of ATA device. My company gV fax number is set to ring a Vonage number that's attached to my fax machine.

As owner of a business, I don't have much choice. If I don't check my e-mail multiple times a day, I could miss an opportunity to get a client.

@Mujtaba Meher: Thanks! I knew it wasn't in the main theme selection.

@Mujtaba Meher: Where do I get that gray skin that you posted the picture of? ..or any other skins that don't come with the standard burg install?

@buono: Seriously? Did you even read the article, or did you just think "Hey! A chance for me to spam my referral link!"?

@jamescobalt: URL Shortener? ..link to more info?

@JiltedCitizen: I turn off my desktop icons too.. I'm running a 5-display setup (3 monitors on a desktop, and a laptop an each end, all connected through Synergy so it acts like a single system), and I almost never even see the desktop, even on the laptops.

@Jason: My thoughts exactly. I primarily use it for family-assistance, but as owner of a web design/development company, I occasionally get calls from clients that need a little help with something. Rather than wasting have my day (time that could be spent programming) driving out to their location, tolerating

@veronykah: The problem that I have found with being a "night person" is that (although I am a programmer), as a business owner, most of my potential clients want to meet in the morning. If I'm not up to answer calls and go to meetings, then the time that do spend at the computer actually programming will decrease

@Catalyst: Actually, no... Dark o'clock is at night... 0-dark-30 is in the morning.

@Wolfsheim: I didn't know Ben Franklin was still alive... I'll have to visit him sometime, especially since he's a distant cousin of mine..

@ChaosEh: As owner of a web development company, I would like the ability to go to Starbucks/etc and SSH/VPN into my home(office) network to get work done. I also need to be able to log into FTP accounts and CMS account to manage clients websites.

@buono: As long as they were smart enough to back up their database, they could import it into j.mp. Then, it's almost guaranteed that within a couple hours someone would create a userscript and/or browser addons which would automatically convert bit.ly links to use j.mp.

@buono: Even if the old links no longer worked, the service could still be provided to users via the j.mp domain, meaning that yes, it would hurt for people who had just posted a link using bit.ly, but anyone already using j.mp and anyone still wanting the service after the shutdown would be able to use j.mp without
