My friends and I used to have debates about that. I don't really consider it part of the west. I consider it more a cross between the Midwest, the South, and Texas. (I don't consider Texas to be part of the South. Texas is Texas. It's just its own thing.)

Do you even watch the show? Jane Villanueva is inseminated in a doctor's office by mistake (the gynecologist confuses her with another patient). As of the most recent episode (S1 E13) Jane IS still a virgin. She has not had sex with Rafael or with her previous partner Michael, or anyone else.

One worry: having an actor who has already undergone SRS play a character who is only starting SRS. Laverne Cox (an actual trans actor) had her character's pre-transition scenes played by her twin brother on OITNB. I believe she was cast in the role before the producers even knew she had a twin, so it was just a lucky

Cisgender vs. transgender has nothing to do with sexual orientation. It's about gender identity. Basically, cis means "not trans" - i.e., the person's gender identity fits with the physical body they were born with. There are transwomen (women who were assigned male at birth) who identity as straight - they like men

I actually read in a magazine interview why Meghan Trainor doesn't want to be called a feminist. She basically said, "I'm 20 years old, and I don't know a lot yet. I don't want to be labeled a feminist and then say the wrong thing. Of course I support women's causes and women's issues. I hope to have it figured out

That isn't smarmy.

Just a minor note, but your first two sentences almost make it sound like the woman turned 24, went to the hospital, and croaked.
