Actually, your primary note was about how this was too contrived to be realistic, then you attempted to relate it to how you speed on freeways.

I think that's the problem with all "stand your ground" laws, right? You can't really understand why someone felt unsafe. It's kind of like "hate crime" laws. You can't prove that someone beat up some kid because he was gay. Maybe the guy just beat up that kid because he really is an asshole and likes beating up

I'm crossing my fingers for you guys! The world needs better parents.

True. My best friend is Salvadorian, she married a white, blonde German guy and has two very white-looking babies. I can't tell you how often she is assumed to be the nanny/housekeeper.

How are you not as bad as the people who said the initial microaggressions? She has just said that she understands her privilege and power. She's even apologising to you. Yet you mock her because she looks white and chooses to identify otherwise because of her family? Why is that something you think it's ok to do?

I totally feel you. My dad said to me in regards to our family name " just tell them it's Finnish. You're very pale they'll believe you. "
Just about the most depressing thing ever.

i am guilty of this one. well, not guilty of correcting someone and saying they're white, but of assuming that someone is white when they're not.

This is great! I am the most Irish-looking Armenian ever, heh. I've had people make racist comments about "brown people" and Armenians to me thinking/assuming I'm totally white.

I've always gotten "why are you offended, you're not really black"

"Courtney, I see you as a neon pink stegosaurus"

so rage

Quick! Someone check him for snips and puppy dog tails!

Also, the "bad guy" in Monsters U is really awesome & a female monster. And she's complicated! She's easily the scariest monster of all (a high compliment in the world of Monsters Inc/U), she's a great adversary, and in the end she respects the Mike W & Sully/is redeemed as the bad guy. It's imperfect, for sure, but
