This needs to be higher. This kind of indictment isn’t saying it’s NOT a hate crime, it’s saying they don’t have ample evidence to convict under that charge. A worse outcome would be trying to convict him of a hate crime and having him get off because there isn’t enough to prove it.

The character doesn’t have to be smart or well rounded, just interesting. Not everyone on the planet is smart and well rounded. He can be an idiot and self centered, as long as he’s interesting to read about.
