I’m going to be really annoyed with Relic if they refuse to bring ANYTHING to Dawn of War 3 abandoning it and choose to instead fully put their efforts into Age of Empires.

DOW3 was just sorely lacking content, everyone who hated on it has fond memories of a game that they likely played years after content releases in

The problem is that it lacks content, nothing else. It doesn’t need a cover mechanic, and that could be said for almost all RTS plots. They’re often grindfests and the story is just window dressing. Though, saying that, there were a few decent missions in DOW3 that I actually enjoyed.

Guess this article no longer holds true! ;)

If everyone was on the same playing field, certainly, my issue is using a controller on PC against people using a mouse. This sounds like it’s be very fun on console, hopefully it stays populated..

As someone who has put a LOT of time into many MOBA’s I would say it’s nothing like HotS or LoL’s.. The controls are so vastly different it’s not like DOTA either, though that’s what the combat visually, feels closest too.

I wouldn’t make the LoL or DOTA comparison for how it plays.. More Magicka and Helldivers.

My

Was that a new squirrel and acorn segment for Ice Age?

Heads up: ‘Take off your veil of ignorance’, I don’t think you’re using that term correctly.. :/ — You actually want to suggest someone USE the veil in order to understand their position of privilege compared to those lacking the same.

I thought we were talking about DOW3. Hah, well, even so, DOW2 was certainly more like an RPG style game than it was an RTS in campaign. The RTS elements in the multiplayer almost felt more like A-RTS in style..

You had terminators killed by line units? — Well, then, I don’t know what to say. That sounds near impossible if you’re not holding a front line with a tanky melee unit and using a ranged high dps unit as the backline. — While it’s not ‘inherently’ WH40k, there are design elements that ARE and some just simply not for

Now playing

I think this encapsulates how I felt about the DOW1 titles:

Dark Crusade:

Necron was also HEAVILY hinted at in the end credits, not that it had ANY bearing on the story whatsoever.

This has been brought up multiple times, the claim is, which seems somewhat true. Is that the complexity involved with balancing has limited them. They have more units overall (with Elites) and doctrines which drastically affect playstyle that ALL require a substantial amount of balancing. The game is a lot less

How far were you in? I found the game had substantially better missions at about mission 8. The first 7 felt very ‘tutorial’-ish.. Limiting your capabilities. Mission 8 where you take in Terminators and Gabe to clear a level to find Diomedes is really cool. It sort of felt like DOW2's campaign a bit there.

Soulstorm was the lowest rating of the original DOW1 expansions. Winter Assault and Dark Crusade were SUBSTANTIALLY leagues better than that title which felt like a rushed mess. -- I assume you’re saying this as someone who adopted the game as a bundle in it’s integrity and not someone who went through purchasing each

Calling a single person out does NOTHING to improve the quality of the animations if the issues is systemic, and all this does is prove the ignorance and arrogance of the attackers and critiques who think they have intricate knowledge of the project and surrounding circumstances.

NONE of these people have done a thing

@Zilor - Don’t forget combos (which function differently depending on character), dashing, rolling, counter attacking (Orochi/Valk timed dash), unlocking combat/movement/abilities (i.e. stampede or shugoki charge), stamina, unblockables, shield bashes/shoulder charges, hyper armor, staggering, blinds/stuns,

Which game?

Fair enough. I would not recommend the game on strictly SP gameplay alone.

That can be said for lots of titles.. (FH has it too currently.) I did say it’s “more chance” than strictly skill.. which I meant comparatively.

Eh. I’ve played the game, but not ‘thousands of hours’ worth because it’s not THAT great, it’s fun, but it’s niche players are very diehard. Which is fine, cool. But watching this, those movements are just ugly, stiff, and the way it conveys information such as striking and movement is messy at best or requires a good
