I suppose they could handle the turnaround by having everyone rig the ship for the maneuver, then go to sleep. Reverse the star field, wake everyone one up, and voila, they can hit the beach again.

The tiny plot hole I'm annoyed with (that I haven't seen elsewhere), is that Stan gets word that some 16 year old that he's been tangently investigating has gone missing, but no word that the federal contractor that he's been directly investigating has been shot and killed - after being in an off limits area.
