Thing is, there’s enough good, mature animes to go around.

Sad thing is that they’re pretty much forcing those kinds of conditions on people with next to no pay.. If the pay was extremely good, I’d do the same, but it’s not even enough to live with the money animators are getting.

So I am not sure what the situation Mamoru’s company was in, but overall the anime industry has extremely shit wages. It’s not possible to work for a long term in a industry, which doesn’t pay enough to live with.
