From a distance, this phone looks like an iPhone. Which I believe is pretty much why the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is banned in some places.

There is a build number and it's used in every spec sheet.

FYI commentors, the name needs to begin with a "J".

"Furthermore based on the ICS spec sheet (native 720P resolution, no buttons, NFC tech), I doubt many of the current phones could even run it"

I'm claiming that the Galaxy Tab is right up there with the 4gs and that it being a tablet means nothing. I'm saying that its dumb to rip on Android for benching slower when in fact, Android 3 is as fast as the iPad2 and 4gs. But whatever, we'll see on Tuesday.

Right, I'm silly to compare the latest version of Android on a device against the 4gs. It doesn't matter that its a tablet, it has the same specs as a lot of phones including the Galaxy s2.

And? Many existing phones have the same or better specs then the Galaxy Tab. The same browser improvements will be in ICS. The Gingerbread browser hasnt been tweeked in a long time which is why it's mediocre right now.

Where did I say that the Galaxy S2 was right up there? Maybe you need that book.

Maybe you should read what I wrote again. The current version of Android is faster then the 4GS, it just hasnt been made for phones yet.

"Of course, some networks are stronger than others in certain areas, which is why we've got more comprehensive, diverse network testing on the way, in lotsa different locations."

I find it funny that you are making fun of "fandroids" yet linking up to an article that says that an Android device is right up there in speed with the 4S.

Just some FYI, the Honeycomb browser was massively improved over the Gingerbread browser so these benchmarks don't really come as a surprise. Honeycomb is actually still faster then these 4s benchmarks so expect the same or faster to appear in 4.0.

"Large image of the device on front, two part "shelf-like" box where the device is seen immediately and accessories are stowed underneath."

"If the iPhone 4S doesn't need 1GB of RAM to work well... why bother? "

Or Apple could just throw in the latest tech into their phones so that their users could have a better experience longer then they would otherwise. Let's not act like Apple isn't making a MASSIVE amount of money off each phone.

That's not them side by side. That's a Photoshop job

Nevermind, there's no point in trying to explain this. Keep chasing Apple's carrot where they only give you enough to get you to the next contract renewal. 1GB of RAM isn't future tech, it's been here for a while.

"There's no need to layout the box exactly the same way as the ipad. None. "

When a game requires more RAM for better textures, it doesn't really matter how much they control.

Of course it's going to be alright now, but what happens a year from now when apps and games demand more RAM? What about two years from now? People pay a lot of money for these phones and it shouldn't be an expectation that we're going to trade them in after 2 years.
