@Babboa: LOL I've never seen this episode. Pretty cool

@Merricat: Thanks for the research Merricat. Looks doable. I may give this a try.

@Wes: Don't look at recipes much or have too much money. Just want computer in every room of the house! Since when did we need to start justifying our diy habit? lol

@thekouri: a friend was just telling me about this earlier. Good idea if you don't mind putting the velcro up everywhere and secure it well.

Also good for staging playboy photoshoots in your bedroom!

@SophT: What Merricat said ;)

@rtechie: If you've got a fabric screen maybe you could tape it behind the fabric? As long as your screen material allows some light through the back and the led is bright enough.

@Merricat: Good words of caution. I was also thinking the wrong kind of rocks could explode but didn't consider the glass. I guess you could do this without the glass as well. Still a nice little project, I might give it a go... wondering if I can incorporate water into the design somehow.

@Tim Gee: I don't really see the difference? As long as your projection surface (air) can be prepared from the same source it's the same effect. For all we know, R2D2 might be doing the same thing ;)

@Name of Numbers: True, but it would provide a reconciliation of quantum and classical observations and provide a consistent framework to base our models and predictions on.

@techynottreky: While I agree with you, I think the author might have been using the term "hologram" to refer to the visual effect. For instance, the hologram of Princess Leia was just a special effect but we still refer to it as a "hologram".

@Tim Gee: Free-floating, true volumetric display technology does exist but only as a proof of concept. Following is a link to a video of a plasma based system that can generate "pixels" at specific x,y,z co-ordinates by using IR lasers:

@esteban4: Would be nice if this were true but unfortunately it doesn't quite jibe with quantum mechanics. That being said, if a unified theory were to be discovered your idealism might once again be theoretically possible... until the next logical hurdle is encountered.

Belief hack?? I think passing off this kind of philosophical opinion as fact is a fallacy all its own. Just like matters of divine nature, no one is really in a position to make a deterministic statement about it one way or the other. To do so seems arrogant. It's simply a choice.

@Tommy Five: Good advice. That's a good habit and something I like to do on longer trips as well.

@Lactose_The_Intolerant: I am sorry for your loss but please don't fly off the handle. I wish you a speedy emotional recovery.
