The right answer is a car that is modern but not loaded with the latest tech that will age like mayonnaise on a hot day in Phoenix.

Too bad that in CA the 25 year rule means bunk.  You can import one to any other state but CA wont let you register it despite running cleaner than 50% of the cars on the road.

I’m pushing the envelope here, but this one is onlypartly” a Miata.

I think he nailed it with his first choice. The M235i can be extremely reliable if you perform necessary preventative maintenance. It also has 4 seats, and since he’s planning to one day hand it down to his kid, I’m assuming he’ll have one and need to put the little gal/guy somewhere.

What are the odds his kids end up not wanting anything to do with this car he bought to pass on to them?

The V8 powered S197 Mustang is a fine choice in either modular 4.6 litre or Coyote 5.0 engine choices. I’d go for the modular V8, because you can use regular.

GoFundMe is a pox on society. Who the fuck is giving this dipshit charity because he was caught in the act of multiple crimes? Why can’t he afford an attorney if he can afford a hellcat?

Scary stuff when video evidence of you committing a crime can be used against you. What’s next, can anything I say be used against me, too?!

I hate when the do massive overhauls on a car for the Big Race/Score/Job/Whatever and the whole thing takes like 4 hours. They drop the transmission, swap the engine, put on a super charger, drop the weight a hundred pounds, do a custom exhaust, AND manage to go out to a late night diner and/or have a few beers before

Besides everything?

Bread and butter cop/villain cars keeping up with something obviously more powerful.

Cars being depicted as having more or less identical performance to cars that are much slower.

Hot take:

I’ve had an aluminum extension ladder and a shovel come flying at me on the highway. Neither hit me (just barely), but I did run over the shovel. I immediately got off at the next exit and checked the underside of my car for any damage, but luckily there was none.

Now playing

IIRC correctly, that test was done to illustrate high speed crashes and wasn’t done at normal testing speeds.

Does anyone else feel like 0 stars should be reserved for cars that are just plain unsafe period? Not ones that used to be safe under 4 year old laws but now is not under stricter laws? Like a 1 or 2 stars feels more appropriate to me.

I take it back. I just looked up the new HD Rams and they look pretty questionable.

Reminds me of the late 60s Chevrolet C50 farm truck we have. Its almost new too by today’s mile standards at a hare over 50k.

The grill designers at GM are the ones that need to be laid off.
