Wrong.
Wrong.
Is this true? When the decision was made, no one knew that it would be race deciding.
You still won’t be able to afford it. Repairs/parts are still 3X that of a decent car. I’ve a simple 2012 A6 that has depreciated off about $50k to $10k in the seven years I’ve owned it. Any serious mechanical issue will total the car. Imagine the repairs on this.
This column’s annoying pretense is that it treats a twenty year old car with a $15k price the same as a five year old. car. Their five year cost of ownership is not comparable.
Price elasticity is how dramatic demand changes with price. Tap water has pretty low elasticity - you’ll pay a lot to be able to flush your toilet.
There’s also some pretty basic economic principles for figuring out whether it’s more profitable to sell a few cars with high unit profit or a bunch with low unit profit.
There’s almost nothing insurance companies can’t dictate. If insurance refuses to insure a driver, they’re no longer a driver.
‘after dark at just the wrong distance.
I‘didn’t intend for it to come across that way... I think there were some comments above about one year; so I was going with that as a worst-case example.
Mean price doesn’t really give you much information... You always need median, mode, and range to get any real information.
Assuming one year of extended life for the $2,500 repair = $208/month + $200 for gas and insurance = $408/month.
‘Wouldn’t think this should be worth more than $62k total. So, maybe $25k for the conversion??? ... But hey, what do I know. Jeep just sold a bunch of Gladiators for that.
‘Don’t want to start getting enhancement advertisements because I googled it, but there’s a study that says guys with big dicks aren’t very good in bed because they rely on size not technique. - I’ve nothing to brag or complain about.
Record of not, it will be a beauty to watch.
Is yet another crossover or the Amazon Mother Ship more depressing?
It will be interesting to see how the Bronco effects Wrangler/Gladiator depreciation.
An Overland model should be compared with a Tacoma TRD-Pro or a Colorado ZR2. ... This being Jalopnik, you should go with the ZR2 with a diesel?
A showdown of what you can get for $35k perhaps???
“’But some of us aren’t into tramp-stamps of our own name.”
“It ain’t in the same class if it cost 30% more.”
