The write-up itself if pretty short, but interesting none the less. The commentary continues throughout the slide show.

I wish the publishers would allow at least a portion of their classics to become public domain. It would get rid of the need to port the Mame app and having to download roms by allowing people to develop it for server side operation. I know a few sites already exist that do this, but not legally. Playing retro

Oops. Strange server message on submit. Erasing double post.

Newegg is great—I use them all the time, but they don't even come close to Amazon numbers for order fulfillment. They do ship fast to me as well. Typically 2 days on standard shipping to Boston. PC mag did a write up of their operation last month.

I'll back you up on that. He was great in everything up to and including Spaceballs. Men in tights and after, not so much, but that was the twilight of his career anyway. Little known fact—he was a producer on the 86 version of The Fly. Bonus points for making a seminal sci-fi flick.

Easy enough to say, but factor in the ridiculous amount of orders this time of year and the general explosion of shipping/deliveries for all private and federal delivery companies, and it becomes remarkable. I read somewhere that Amazon placed around 70+ peak orders a second during its best day in Dec. 70 A SECOND.

I placed an order on Amazon at 8:30am on a Monday, and to my astonishment tracked the package the next morning as "out for delivery". I got the package next day, despite paying regular ground shipping. How the hell do they do that? Anyway, never going back to Bestbuy ever again. Their employees are either morons

I got that for a while. I think it was my Ad-Block not playing nice with pages that had the Flash video commercials that load before the article. It displays fine when I disabled Ad-Block for Gawker sites. I'm running the latest Chrome on Win7 Ultimate for reference.

What about evil twins?

I don't know...I bet the crew at NASA played rock, paper, scissors over which one got to debunk this myth. Sounds like a nerd's dream to me—to correct blatantly erroneous statements. Want proof? The Iphone 4s actually only has 256mb of ram.

It's a great photo, but I thought the water/snow/trees photo should have taken the cake. The jellyfish was also petty rad, but it would have been even better if all the details below the dome were razor sharp.

I think there should be a separate listing for all armies that have mandatory service, particularly if it includes conscription for women as well as men. It just seems inflated to me that countries are counting the majority of their eligible citizens as active or reserve troops instead of just voluntary enlisted men

Not sure where you got the 5th largest army in the world comment. In what terms? Surely not even close on expenditure or arsenal. Possibly on a per capita basis, but those figures would be heavily influenced by mandatory military enlistment, and I would have figured China would have owned that one.

I'm sure life in north korea is difficult and that this picture evidences some type of energy/resource disparity between north korean and the rest of the developed world, but you also have to consider that north korea has a population half that of the south. You then have to consider that only half of their

I've been thinking it might be time to run an XDA or Cyanogen rom. I was hesitant to do so when my Vibrant was shinny and new, but I think I'm nearing the "end of life" for this device. Maybe ICS will breath some fresh air into it. It would be cool if Samsung officially recognized these developers by using their

Lady Gaga or not, this is simply a case of 21 century Darwinism. If anyone is offering you something for free and you don't look into before sending off your information, then it is only your own fault when you get taken. The only ones I feel bad for are the thousands of kids that may have scammed, but at least most

You know that super intuitive way that you turn on a light switch? You know, the one where you flick it with your finger. Apple totally owns that shit. You now have to do a back flip and hit the switch with your big toe, mid flip, or forgo using your light switch from now on.

Markerbot FTW. That's my Red Ryder BB gun. Too bad I don't think anyone I know will just happen to buy me one for Xmas.

lol. Well put. I couldn't agree more. Although, I'd like to think that was a joke. Extra points for the space between face and book.

PSFFFF...my sister got hammered a few years back and did a darkslide on a highway off ramp and all she got was a DUI.
