It was already losing some steam before that, good move to cash out a bit before it’s finally dead.
The political shtick was funny for the first Trump debate, after that it just got stupid.
Can there be one hockey related happening without a post like this?
The Leafs would demand it, similar to how they (and Buffalo) influenced other teams away from putting a team in Hamilton. But there isn’t any set in stone policy, that would contravene anti-trust laws.
They aren’t franchises of one company, they are multiple franchises operating in concert. Only MLS is like that, and…
Along with every stupid porn reference he made in his first 10 years of column writing.
There are no franchise exclusivity zones. They’d be illegal under Canadian and American anti-trust legislation. Issues like this have been decided on a case by case basis in the past (LA got 50% of Anaheim’s expansion fee, for example)
The issue for Montreal would be splitting the media market rather than straight…
The relocation fee would have to be massive, because (like the expansion fee), I’d guess Montreal will get a pretty high share of it.
Belle Isle is better than MIS in just about every respect...except for when you’re going in and leaving.
500 old school pedantic cool points for using “ALTERNATE” captain on the patch.
I like the ripple effect this would create. Increased salary demands after the SB win mean that the team would probably have broken up after the Washington SB, meaning someone could have tried to beat the Cowboys.
It’s not inheritance money. It’s a trust. Breaching a trust is a big deal.
The day that united young and old, black and white.
HOCKEY WAS RUINED WHEN GEOFFRION AND HULL BENT THEIR STICKBLADES
Strongly worded, but also with that upper Canadian touch of self-effacing whimsy.
It wasn’t a niche sport until TG poured all that money in to destroy it.
I still hold TG about 80% responsible, but it’s true North American open wheel expanded way too much internationally to try and capitalize off the Mansell boom. Something had to give.
I’m kind of sad, because I came back a few years ago and have really enjoyed it.
It’s discretion of the border guard. As long as you’re open and clear about it, you should be fine. If they ask you if you’ve been fingerprinted lately, tell them about the arrest.
Think they’ll get a Q team?
Some people in Ontario aren’t tools. Don’t pretend to speak for all of us.
I think half the population of Ontario still has that “Norris Division Playoff Champion” poster from 1992-93.
