Izzy Stradlin is WAY cooler than Johnny Depp.

I took four advil before hand, which did absolutely nothing. I went home and took some expired vicodin which at least put me to sleep.

They didn’t give me any drugs for my IUD, either. I asked them about it and they flippantly told me to to “just take a Motrin before you get here.” I forgot to do that and they'd didnt even have any Motrin or anything at the doctor's office. This pain was excruciating - we deserve better.

And getting an IUD can mean a perforated uterus and pelvic infections and possible loss of fertility and/or major organs. Among other things.

And that is a reason to not research it. Look at all the options for women, the various forms of the pill, NuvaRing, IUDs, etc. Men.....nothing (unless you want to count this stupid switch thing). There is that gel that has been in development for who knows how long, but nothing ever seems to come from it.

File “thinking about how to prevent pregnancy and taking action to prevent pregnancy” under “emotional labor.”

I can only imagine it was a discussion here on Jezebel, but perhaps it was somewhere else, but I was recently enlightened to the concept that men, come time that the decisions has been made that no more babies are wanted, REFUSE to get a vasectomy! Because noooo, 24 hours sitting at home on a bag of peas is too much

Invasive surgery, perhaps, but no more so than inserting an implant under the skin of a woman’s arm, or placing a plastic and metal coil into one of her major internal organs.

This. How many women have become infertile from IUDs, or you know, DIED from BC related blood clots. I personally know one woman who died from an embolism and two more who were preeeeetty close.

Actually had to answer to mr. boyfriend that female contraception is not all fun and games. You’re totally right.

Yeah I agree, I have a copper IUD and that shit makes me bleed 3X what I used to... because hormones get me depressed and I’m sick of trying different ones... and yeah condoms right? well I got pregnant on condoms and had to go trough an abortion... I’m just saving for getting my tubes tied.

Because the male ego is fragile. It’s okay for women to risk their physical and mental health, but men have their precious penis and man jewels to think of. If they can’t make a baby at a moment’s notice, how can they know they are really men?

I suspect the main difference would be that they’d be less discussed, period, because I think relatively few men would use these devices and women would still be stuck with most birth control concerns and because I think the manipulative woman story is more likely to get press.

Exactly. Or I loved the guys talking about how there is no way anything surgical is going near their testicles. Or, one mentioned possible libido reducing side effects (which I’d never heard of in regard to vasectomy. In fact I’ve heard the opposite due to no worries about making babies). It’s like they think all the

There would be those stories. There are already men who lie about infertility or condom use.

I suspect doctors show MUCH LESS CARE about the long term effects of female contraceptives. How many devices/drugs have been sold to women that were ultimately harmful so the dudes didn’t have to worry their pretty little heads over the whole babies thing?

I see, so when boys on average have higher math SAT scores than girls, it "means that boys are better prepared than girls for STEM majors in college".

Right, if boys succeed and do better than girls, it is providence, They are just smarter, but if girls do better, we are neglecting those poor little boys. Bullshit!

I've got the perfect solution to the college rape problem: Abolish colleges. Do away with the entire university education system.

Being an anti-feminist ass: it's a nice living.
