Funny enough, I had a rather complicated dream about finding ancient alien cities in Antarctica, long before I ever consciously encountered the idea in fiction. I think the aliens in my dream were benevolent, though, not horrific.
A little girl she saved in an earlier episode got it right: she's capable of emotion, but she's got her volume dial way down. It may come back up in later episodes/seasons but by that time she may be killed. As Finch said in the pilot they may all be killed sooner or later.
Fusco's look on his face was priceless though.
You know... I don't think Shaw is incapable of emotion. I think she's just super smart and learned at an early age to get over her emotions. She feels, but doesn't show it or bother to dwell on them.
There needs to be an episode where Bear gets a phonecall from the Machine composed of barking.
Did anyone else find it adorable that Root told Lionel about the picture of his father petting a lion cub named Lionel? Amy Acker is amazing.
