They felt the content they were cutting would be offensive to the audience they were targeting, so they censored it. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. Their reason for doing so doesn’t change the fact they are censoring content to meet whatever internal standards they may have set.

A person who examines books, movies, letters, etc., and removes things that are considered to be offensive, immoral, harmful to society, etc.
