Annalee must have read my mind about Firefly. I bought the complete series DVD collection lightly used via Amazon, and the follow-up movie Serenity from the bargain bin at my local grocery.

@hrnghl: I'm afraid they will get into the space jockey story somewhat extensively. Since there are supposed to be two prequels, they will need to have something to fill four or more hours of screen-time.

@gd01skorpius: I guess you could call it fan fiction, even though it's by a professional writer. I've actually heard it before. I'm not sure I like this delay. It was reportedly for re-filming, but why would re-filming be needed? Did the first cut pull vacuum that bad? I don't think a Hollywood studio would just do this to just to make the movie better, it would cost too much. I'll try to remain hopeful though.

@Fierock: I'm with you, if we can prevent the pregnancy in the first place, we should. Other options should be for unusual situations.

@Purple Dave: I think it's only natural to assume that HIV+ people acquired the infection through unprotected sex, since this is the way the vast majority do so. You do make a good point though, that like most assumptions, this can be incorrect.

@RedCrown: I thought it was something like that too, but couldn't remember. All I could think was that it was more than COE, but less than the 14 that some consider a "full" season. Thanks for the info!

@Astropcr: Yes, it will be "Torchwood: The New World" on the Stars Network in the US. I'm not sure how many episodes in total the first season will be, but I heard it's being filmed now.

@najmah: Not a problem, I just don't think people take safe sex as seriously as they should. Especially, younger people. As someone who came of "age" in the 1980's, I'm appalled at that attitude.

@Purple Dave: OK, good points. I was only thinking of cases of consensual sex. I'm also not a big fan of abstinence only. Everyone needs to know how to protect themselves under all circumstances, including those you mentioned.

There is already a proven method to reduce HIV risk by 90% or usually much more. It's been widely publicized for at least 25 years now. It doesn't cost anywhere near $12,000/year. It doesn't have side-effects like headache or nausea.
