I’m glad everyone is so accepting of the idea that the US is absolutely, positively correct that this was a sarin attack by Assad’s forces. Because, you know, it’s not like our government has lied or concealed the truth before in order to justify a war.

“That said, the ship has proven to be very vital for Russian military operations in Syria.”

I agree with you regarding the the premise of the article, mobile land nukes plus the whole SLBMs make it kind of moot etc... but call it what it is, a bad hypothesis and address that. Jumping to Russia bashing in a post that doesn’t have any weakens your position.

Plug the hole with a wall and they’ll probably start, along with the existing problems the Coast Guard handles (rescues, drug smuggling, etc.) and on a lower budget.

We could debate whether Russia actually needs that many icebreakers, but that is another post for another time

I am a neophyte, but I thought Russia already had an answer to this: make sure their nukes are constantly on the move.

Wouldn’t they have to just expend a little more effort to shrink and camouflage their launch vehicles, or do we already have satellites that can tell that a train car, freight container or passenger

Can we just get this over with already? I don’t care who “presses the button” first, but just enter into WWIII already.

Huntsman is a special, weird sort of breed - he’s a rationalist Republican. He believes in evolution and human caused climate change. He’s the only Republican out there I could see myself voting for for president over a democrat. Trump is a chode and all, but at this point every rational voice that has his ear is a

So what if I don’t support a war. Do I get drafted and my taxes go up?

Understandable. I gather in Belgium this is known Operation Why Are We Cleaning Up America’s 2003 Mess. Or Operation Ongoing Fuck Up. If I was a Belgian I wouldn’t want to be picking up the tab or sending troops to die for it either. I’m American and I didin’t want to pay for the first round of Operation Gotta Do

The older I get, the more I think the late president Eisenhower was RIGHT about “beware of the military industrial complex”. If that line is to belived, then they’ve come up with the perfect way to generate revenue. A “war” that never ends. Terrorism. We’ve been shootin’ the bad guys, since 9/11. And it continues, day

Fuck this story. Those tweets are just a mix of insider facts plus personal military and political opinions. Nothing more.

Shooting people in the back. How brave

Horrible. Massacre and revenge like this is the kind of thing that prepares the ground for another war, that creates a sentiment of hatred towards the enemy and allows rhetoric for vengeance to flourish.

V-6 engines are the least of F1's problems: fuel flow restrictions, rpm limits, engine/transmission penalties, testing restrictions, the tokens system, dropping traditional venues, Hermann Tilke, screwing promoters, the list goes on....

I posted on another F1 thread in Oppo, but in short: if you want to hear V10s or V12s, go find the old races and download them. I don’t think you’ll ever hear those engines again in a race, unless there’s some sort of turbo/hybrid system involved, which leads back to the problem of reduced noise anyway.

Often, while it exploded halfway through the race!

I don’t think the V6's are that bad. No they’re not a screaming V10, but some of the noises they make are pretty wild. The Honda engine, as bad as it was, made some pretty neat burps and sputters before it exploded half way through the race.
