Thats nuts. My wifey is getting knee surgery without paying anything next week. The downside of a canadian system is that she woudl have to wait like 6months for an MRI to really confirm her ACL is torn and needs surgery. So she relies on the surgeons advice that it is indeed torn.

Would you be down for higher taxes and get all that nitty gritty health stuff off your plate? Im fairly sure thats how its ‘free’ in Canada. I’m fairly stubborn and dont know if i would willingly pay for a good health plan if it was left up to me.

I dont think its ever been more than a $10 difference for me. Getting insurance at a place like a restaurant could get a bit steeper, but most of the time its not much

Good lord, $250 extra a month?! Most companies here give you health insurance, and usually covers like 80% of dental, $500 for physio a year, $500 for massages a year, and surgery and checkups are free of course.
