Thanks for explaining to us all the archaic invention of network television. So educational for all the born-yesterday Gen Z-ers and notoriously media illiterate readers who frequent the AV Club.

Chili’s is vastly superior to Applebees in every way.

That is not what the article says at all

Seems like Abdullah Saeed could have waited a second and sought clarification on Gilroy’s situation before he publicly accused him of being a traitor to the union. That is not how you do solidarity my man!

The ultimate Ranger already exists.

This. They don’t really care about the ethics behind AI, they just want to move the needle

It’s just inane bullshit to help attract more financing, it doesn’t actually mean anything concrete

No, just no.

If there’s a single lesson that we should have learned since the dawn of the industrial revolution, it’s that no industry should be allowed to self-regulate. However this concept is dressed up, it inevitably leads to worse outcomes for humanity, the environment, and the economy.

How about regular ass hatchbacks?

So it’s in keeping with the ongoing trend of: bigger, taller, more expensive, more powerful, and angrier?

Who owns Volvo again? Ohhhhh...

Source? I did the exact same search on CarGurus and it turned up two entire cars:

The whole situation just sucks now. I’m ready to replace a car. I’m fortunate enough that I can afford some of these more expensive vehicles if I want to. Problem is, I really don’t want to. I got other things to spend money on. And I’m certainly not buying two “expensive” vehicles.

So, pray tell, where the hell would used cars come from should the market for new cars dry up?

I spent the weekend at some friends place this weekend and one has a recent Kia Rio hatch. It’s not bad. Just for fun I looked and there isn’t one available for about 300 miles from my densely populated east coast location.

But wait! It will get even cuter in a decade.

I can’t think of any car I’d want to drive in the $20k range. What even is there? A Versa? Kill me.

Wages have not kept up with inflation for 50 years.

First working people are priced out of buying homes. Now they are priced out of buying cars. This is certainly heading in the wrong direction. I think we really need to allow Chinese cars to be sold here.  The established car makers simply have no interest in the sub $20k market now.

Cheap new cars were replaced with expensive cars and mortgage-style financing.
