I feel bad for D&D.  They should have either popped it out a few weeks earlier or waited for late Summer.   A week before Mario was a bad idea.

It really ramped up when Reagan decided to close basically all mental health facilities and just emptied those clinics onto the streets.

Solidarity. The wage to work disparity between writers (and other workers) and execs is insane and needs correction. The product wouldn’t exist without the people who put in actual labor.

Flounder (character) isn’t a flounder (species) and never was. The new one looks like they modeled him after a sergeant major, a very common species of damselfish one sees all over reefs in the tropical Atlantic.  Pretty accurately I might add.

“The last 30 years” as if video games deserved movies before then. Making a movie based on the plot of a game from more than 30 years ago results in to guys playing virtual ping ping with eachother or the exact Mario movie we got at the time. Most well received games at that time were about handling and not plot and…

I mean, but so what? There will never be a world where only good movies get made. “Hell on earth” seems like a major overreaction. I get that it’s supposed to be maybe humorously melodramatic (maybe?), but the humor isn’t really coming through.

yeah it was incredibly straightforward. it’s okay to just not like something.

I’m not sure Midsommar was really trying to be clever. It trojan horsed a toxic relationship/break-up story into a horror film rather successfully. Outside of that I don’t think it made any pretences about being clever.

i suspect my insufferable hipster ass is gonna love it.
