I was going to ask how much it towed, but then realized it would more likely being towed.

Not mentioned is that due to the wide use of Town Cars and the mechanically similar Crown Vic (used by independently owned yellow cabs) it was possible to get them fixed in NYC 24/7.   You were able to get mechanical and even body work done in the middle of the night.

On what do you base your assessment of the Chevy Sonic? I have 86,000 trouble free miles on my 2014 LTZ with a six speed manual and turbo. Huge front seat legroom and headroom; anyone can Fit in it. Trunk is enormous for a subcompact. Steady 36mpg with plenty of oomph if you row the gears.

My late father, a retired civil engineer, was in his early eighties when he went to a Mazda dealer and leased a new RX-8. His explanation; “I always wanted a Wankel engine.” My mother would not let him trade their fairly new Nissan Maxima, so they had two cars.

No fool like an old fool.  I have no respect for guys that say they are collecting cars, when all they are doing is letting them deteriorate in slow motion.  Nobody’s fault but his.

After eleven years, I replaced this exact car, minus the body kit with a 2001 Sebring (new and improved over the original Sebring) and I can assure you that the body flex was worse in the Sebring. They even had some sort of contraption in the windshield header that was supposed to combat the flex, but it rattled over

Yes, a manual was available that year, later dropped, then came back, in subsequent years, but it was impossible to find one late in the model year and too late to order when I bought mine.  Not quite a unicorn, but good luck finding one.

WOW! If not for back surgery two days ago, I would likely be headed to the Midwest to negotiate. I still may call. I bought this car, same colors, minus the body kit and wing, new in July 1990. I drove it, as a second car, for eleven years and about 90K miles. I even put a class three hitch on the back and towed

5,600 lb. towing capacity is hardly an Explorer record. My 1997 5.0 liter AWD Explorer was rated to tow more than 7000 lbs.  I wish I still had it.  I made the mistake of trading it for a 2003 Explorer, which was a piece of junk by comparison.

When I lived in Flushing, NYC, just the glass was stolen out of both side mirrors. I drove over to the infamous car repair district across the street from Shea Stadium. Within two seconds of pulling into the first street in the area, a guy stopped me and asked what I needed. I pointed to the mirrorless mirrors, he

Because they’re Ford.

In the same way that flashing your headlights to warn oncoming drivers of a cop with radar, removing the chalk of your own car can’t be illegal; it just means nobody has challenged it. In both cases, just because a cop doesn’t want you to do it doesn’t make it illegal.

Sorry, I hit the publish button inadvertently.

Before I voted, I knew this would be a NP, but allow me the counterpoint.  While I never owned an SHO, I was one of those who fell for the entirely new shape (by way of the ‘83 T-Bird) of the original Taurus.  I bought a new ‘87 MT-5

Two years ago, I needed something to tow my 5000 lb. boat, and I needed it ASAP. I found an F-150 XL extended cab with the 2.7 Ecoboost and a nice trim package that gave me the newest Sync along with nice wheels, fog lamps, etc. Lease price was $362 a month all in, which was affordable. But, anything with heated

This is a crackpipe only because the price is too high. I never realized how many ignorant knuckleheads are commenting until the subject car is one I own.

You obviously haven’t owned one.

So not true, and I’m speaking with 73,000 miles of use.  It could be that lesser trim have less sound deadening than mine.  It’s not quiet, but not bad at all.  Sorry, but at least as stable as other small cars I’ve owned.  If you want to know what it feels like to be blown around while passing a semi at 80, do it in

Great economy car but the price is substantially above book value. I have owned a 2014 sedan version since new, but mine is a higher trim level LTZ. The turbo with six-speed is a great combination. It is pretty quick, gets 36mpg, cruises all day at 85mph, although you do have to downshift on the interstate to go

The owner wouldn’t be selling the car if it were capable of doing what the NPers are expecting/hoping it will do; give you six months of trouble free service before it dies.   He’s likely selling because he is tired of being nickel and dimed every month with another $500-$1,000 repair.
