It’s okay. As of yesterday I now own five Smarts...

1. Was the CRX ever really a “performance” car?? I think everyone just remembers the Si. If the CRZ had caught on, maybe it would have earned one of those trims. It has all the underpinnings of a sports hatch except a strong powerplant. It was fun in the corners, 2dr and 2 seats, cockpit/streamlined feeling interior, e

No, the difference was that the standard CSX had the intercooled Turbo II (175hp), while the -T was the non-intercooled Turbo I (~146hp), which was still quick enough for the 80's. Think the difference between the original GLH and the GLHS, but in reverse.

While I’ll certainly agree that “personal luxury” cars of the ’70s are an, ahem, acquired taste, This is actually a pretty fine example of the breed. A big, floaty cruiser made to soak up the miles. It may not be equipped for broken-field running, but it’s equipped perfectly for broken-road cruising.

I must’ve fallen out of bed last light and cracked my head on the nightstand because I think this car is rad and now I want one.

I definitely do NOT agree with that. Even if in some ways it does. It is quite obvious to me how much sketchier cars are in states with no inspection. Just walk around a parking lot in Florida and see how many cars have tires with cords showing. I can only imagine the state of the brakes. Most people have no clue at

Well, that’s at least one explanation for why Boomers are so susceptible to Fox News Propaganda.

Leaded gasoline for cars finally disappeared from the Earth for good in 2021, but its affects will be with us for a long time.

Ffs at least start producing more American oil wtf is with these prices?

I grew up in Atlanta but was born and still have family in small town north Alabama. Today you’d go freeway 90% of the way, but when I was a kid more than half the ride was rural 2-lanes. Those barely-surviving gas stations were all along the route, often next to the owner’s house and barn full of the type of stuff

Frankly, every single bit of car casting in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul is perfect, but the highlight for me is Mike’s Fifth Avenue. It’s a suitably anonymous old man car, but at the same time, he’s probably comfortable with it from the Diplomat squad cars he almost definitely drove as a cop. Second place

Uncle Buck’s car...

So yeah, being a conservative, racist, white-nationalist, anti-vax asshat like these folks are all opinions. They’re just a garbage opinions.

The irony of this is that those who support these pussy “truckers” are the same people who will scream at the top of their lungs that “I SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE LIBRULS DON’T!!1!!!11!!!”

Furthermore, if you have agreed to let the government control what parts of public life you can access by constantly showing your card or app to see if you are being a good little citizen, you’re right, its not a slippery slope - it’s already over. Look back through history, man.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the people who don’t care if others die of Covid would be the same people who would commit this much time and resources to just being obnoxious. Zero people have died from wearing masks and getting the Covid vaccines. And get out of here with that slippery-slope fallacy that

Looks like the pro-tesla crowd are being dumber than usual about this one

The problem is it’s smart enough to know it’s in Boston, so it’s trying to drive like a local.
