Kinda interesting that apple pie didn’t even crack Washington’s top 5 considering we grow so many damn apples. Then again, apple pie really isn’t in my top 5 either, my top 5 list would be:

I’m not surprised to see Cheerios at the top of this list and I can’t disagree, regular-ass Cheerios are one of the few cereals of which I can pour myself a big bowl and enjoy straight-forward. I’m not sure why, but most of the other low/no sugar cereals taste kinda flat in comparison to regular Cheerios.

I’ve got a few variations of oatmeal that I make, but my favorite one is made with a chocolate peanut butter protein shake and sliced frozen bananas. Of course, I should also note that I don’t eat oatmeal hot, I actually freeze the bowl of oatmeal to the point where the oatmeal around the side of the bowl takes

I dump the pumpkin into a bowl and stir in a serving of warmed up cream cheese, maple syrup, and pumpkin spice. Various cereals go well with this pumpkin concoction but I usually add the cereal in as I go along so the cereal stays nice and crunchy.

...but it doesn’t even contain any allspice!!

This gravy would also pair well with gnocchi, cooked pasta, or the holy trio of roasted potato, onions, and peppers. Pasta and gravy isn’t quite as decadent as alfredo but it’s still delicious and it’s a lot more forgiving. I normally make a garlic/basil gravy and stir in cooked elbow macaroni, so I might as well use

I’ve been meaning to make chorizo gravy but when I do, I’m planning on substituting the biscuits for some kind of corn-based starch. I feel like making plain old cornbread would be too easy but I’ve never really attempted to make johnnycakes or corn biscuits (both of which I think would be really good with a chorizo

Calorie counting might not be 100% accurate but it sure as hell beats trying to blindly navigate our current food environment. At the end of the day, having more information over the caloric content of food is better than having none. The concept of intuitive eating is something I keep on hearing about, and honestly,

Your stomach issues could be a sign that your diet is deficient in dietary fiber. I’ve heard that beans are a really good way to introduce fiber into an otherwise low fiber diet, but’s there’s usually a transition period where the body has to adjust to the increased fiber intake. When I first began making the

My favorite lazy burrito filling is a can of seasoned beans dumped into cooked peppers and onion. I prefer the ranch style beans but there’s a few others I’ve tried and all of them have been fine.

I was one of those weird individuals who hated raw tomatoes despite liking most tomato-based sauces - In fact, I even seem to remember maneuvering around large cooked chunks of tomato if they happened to appear in whatever I was eating. I had no issues with well pureed salsas but something like pico de gallo gave me

I’ve spent my now 38 years on this planet in and around the Seattle area so I’m very much aware of cream cheese on a hot dog. For most of my life, I’ve either claimed to not like cream cheese or just not really given myself an opportunity to get to like it, but it’s something I’ve started using over the past year and

The sport peppers look much lighter in color than serrano peppers. They might be adding in dye but most pickled serrano peppers just look like smaller versions of a jalapeno, right down to the same green color.

Yeah, I was about to say that as far as the Seattle area is concerned, heatwaves like this tend to happen once a year. It’s the hottest period of the summer and this little heatwave doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be challenging any record highs.

This sounds like a pretty damn good meal for me to make.

I only small batch fry falafel in a tiny cast iron skillet, so I have to continuously monitor the temperature and adjust the burner accordingly. I don’t think I could rely on a wooden utensil because after I drop the falafel into the oil, the temperature drops and I’ve found that the intensity of this drop in temperatu

I always thought Anzac biscuits were essentially hardtack, so I was pretty confused when I came across an Australian-based cyclist who suggested Anzac biscuits as being a perfect ride along snack. I was like, would I have to sit on the biscuits and let them stew in hours of my own “under” sweat in order for them to be

These won’t actually be robot umpires, all that’s being proposed is that balls and strikes be called by camera-assisted pitch tracking technology. In-game broadcasts already use this technology but the home plate umpire isn’t privy to such details.

I’m currently working my way through a box of De La Rosa’s mango “Pulparindo” candies and they really pack a nice punch into a little 14 gram package. My only critique of the mango pulparindo candy is the mango flavor isn’t really there. It makes me want to dust dried chile mango with a liberal amount of tajin or
