As a Washingtonian and a coffee drinker, it somewhat irks me to see coffee be our representative. Sure, Seattle is the birthplace of the nation’s largest chain coffeehouse but I’m not sure if there’s a coffee culture that’s really germane to either Seattle or the state as a whole. I also don’t think a state’s “iconic”

I can’t speak for others, but I typically go red for beef and green for pork/chicken.

Indian soft tacos could be made with ground lamb, sauteed onion and garlic, some kind of garam masala, paneer, and naan to wrap it all up in. Throw in some pickled peppers and you have a winner.

Just recently, I tasted a store-bought fire-roasted salsa my dad was eating and it tasted more like marinara than salsa. I figured it’d be terrible on nachos or chips but pretty good on a Mexican pizza. Other than being a little more watery than regular red pizza sauce, the salsa added the familiar tomato-y brightness

As soon as the peel starts showing significant yellowing, I peel the banana and freeze it. I don’t mind regular overripe bananas too much, but frozen yellow bananas with peanut butter kinda feels like a dessert while still being a healthy snack.

Green onion pancakes (pajeon) are pretty popular in Korea so this might actually have some staying power.

Tajin, eh? Sounds like something to try. I got a couple golden delicious apples during my last trip to the grocery store and I guess I’d forgotten how one dimensional they are with the sweetness. I remembered that I had some tajin so I sprinkled some on the apples to amp up the tartness and it wasn’t a bad combo.

I worked at a pizza place for three and a half years and I’m fairly certain the six or so pints of spumoni that were in the freezer when I got there were still there when I left. Occasionally, the owner/manager of the joint would crack a joke when the phone rang by saying “pick up the phone, they’re calling for spumoni

I can see mixing some one-note cereals together, but mixing together multi-flavored cereals would be like bringing a dozen radios into the same room and then setting them to all play different stations at different volumes. Good luck getting any meaningful information outta that setup.

We normally had two kinds of cereal on hand, and one kind was usually chocolate frosted sugarbombs while the other was usually nuts and twigs. Strangely enough, I usually ate the perceived “healthy”cereals even when the sugary option still had life in the box. I never really though about combining the two, though.

To be fair to Miami, the oppressive tropical humidity actually prevents the temperature from soaring into triple digits. All that moisture acts as a heat sink for the sun’s energy. Inland Siberia isn’t close to a moderating body of water so that means it isn’t immune to heatwaves during the summer. Yakutsk has a

Why are we talking about water boiling when we’re describing air temperature?

There’s no way to eat a burger before the structural forces keeping the burger’s juices inside break down. About a month ago, I decided I’d try to get around this problem by chopping the meat up and wrapping it inside a tortilla alongside the other toppings. I ended up not being able to close the bottom of the wrap

Most sit-down places won’t bring those things out until the bill is due and that’s usually after the meal. Paying before the meal is usually something reserved for takeout orders. If I order takeout, I usually wash my hands before I prepare to eat it. As for as getting hands dirty during eating, that’s what napkins

I’m thinking it’s even more like ground beef piccadillo.

I have the same rankings as well. I had to endure lots of Twix in my youth so after I got my first job and the (very little) financial independence that came with it, Snickers bars became my go-to candy bar. My high school snack shop actually had Mars Bars (which I preferred over Snickers) so I got those when I could.

Within the context of this list, I gotta put Snickers on top. I like the actual Mars Bars a little better because they have almonds instead of peanuts, but the peanuts in a Snickers bar are still fine and good with me. Don’t even get me started on the Snickers ice cream bars...

I’ve done celery with nutella and it was less than good, so I can’t imagine chocolate chips would be much of an improvement. Celery and hummus is my go-to combo.

Now I’m disappointed that B&J’s aren’t releasing a Flan For Justice flavor and directing the profits toward certain non-profit/advocacy groups.

Forget about being street legal, this thing might be sidewalk legal.
