Please tell me you'll bring this thing through c'ville!

Automated plate recognition and scanning is one thing, storage of these data is another. I don't mind police cars scanning every plate looking for warrants; building a database of dates, times, and locations however is something which brings about major privacy issues. The lack of transparency in how these data are

Are you referring to the car in the photo above? That has nothing do with the story nor the comment which I was replying to. But it looks like it was a nice E34. ;-)

Interesting that you bring my ancestry. I do originate (3 generations back) from region which gives the BMW its B. Genetic immunity, perhaps?

As the owner of an E39, I feel cheated. I somehow didn't get the asshat inducing ventilation system in mine. I, on occasion, can be a dick, but that is targeted to drivers who aren't paying attention to what the hell is going on around them.

MD has some pretty alright stuff. So far the best beer I've had brewed in VA has been my homebrew and thats less an assertion of my mediocre skills and more a statement on the state of the market here.

Matt: Is there any better "local" beer around here? I've tried most of the Devil's Backbone and Starr Hill brews and have yet to get excited by anything.

Not really a "fact" per se, but I still like to think about the fact that the only way to get to space is to strap yourself to a bomb and pray to your favorite deities (I might suggest Newton, von Braun, and a recent addition of Armstrong) that thousands of people did their integrals properly.

While this is very much a mind fuck, it also exists down here on terra firma. Space simply allows us easier access to velocities where this can be measured without some serious equipment. I'd say, ultimately, for the human race this has yet to really be a matter of concern for space travel. I very much look forward to

The blatant ignorance required by a group of people for this "structure" to come together is so ironic I can't do anything other than sit back and laugh... and then drink.

Reasonably clever defacement... not bad sir, not bad.

Hermano! I've finally found him!

Allow me to simplify that for you a bit... "our education doesn't cover physics as much as it should"

[Playing the role of an American at whom your statement is directed]... Yeah? And your point?

This is far less "flashy" of advice than many points here, but it almost certainly is the most useful for drivers who actually want to improve their driving. Most of the other bits of advice here, while very useful, are directed towards drivers who have no desire to improve their driving. They're far to self-absorbed

I've taken to self policing. I'll be in the lane that ends and I'll move at the exact same speed as the lane we all have to merge into. This helps in two ways: First, it stops more cars from cramming ahead of me; second, the drivers in the lane we're merging into see this and suddenly become quite polite and they

I'm pretty sure you're right 99.9995% of the time. I have a faint hint of recollection of something saying its ok to play your saxamaphone while driving if and only if you wear a ski mask while doing it.... anyone else recall something along these lines?

I think the Benny Hill pits moment probably belongs to Hamilton this week. FIR's troubles don't seem to have been due to comic ineptitude, its seemed more like equipment failure of a newly designed wheel-nut or wheel-not housing. I like Lewis, despite your haters guide, he can be a bit of an ass but seeing his

Finally, someone with the right answer. I think that picture doesn't even begin to do them justice though.... I loved them polished up and/or two-toned with the outer portion powdercoated.

Similar to some of the BBS's posted earlier... how could no one have suggested the classic Style 5's? I think the ones posted earlier were RS's and these technically are RC's (Forgive me if I'm wrong).
