she'll be responsible for it."
RIP you fine fine man. You'll be missed.
squee!!!! (Damon-Elena kiss; Tyler-Caroline sexcapade)
@avclub-7e1ce4ce3124fd9ecc13a151afcff11b:disqus yeah, you are right about the sprinkling - I checked after posting, wise lady that I am. Can you tell I skimmed a lot of the iron islanders POVs? not so much my favs, particularly as I loathed Theon so much by the time we get his uncles' POVs.
^ my only complaint about the streamlining…
yeah I didn't like the sprinkle baptism version of what is dead may never die. The book version illustrates the hardness of the iron islanders so much better than any amount of Balon's talk about rape and pillage can ever do.
PROBABLY SPOILERY IN A LOOSE WAY
not to bring up this minor *ahem point, but Stannis seems to be too easily led to be an effective leader. plus what @avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus says about being consumed by…
agree with this. it was a really great scene. (I mean, aside from inadvertently telegraphing that Yoren would die before the ep's end)
so so so wrong.
as much as we fans of ASOIAF babble on about how effective at compressing and communicating a LOT of information the tv series is, I really think that for newbies it is a true slog. Things don't quite make sense, characterization seems half-fulfilled, etc. The series rewards those newbies who revel in the minutiae,…
Your point is well-taken, since technically this is about the tv show, not the books and an in-mid-series-read-only-on-Book-2 newbie could definitely inadvertently spoil upcoming events for peeps on the newbie thread.
well said.
it is has been slightly intimated upthread … but really, can "Jaqen H'ghar - big damn awesome thumbs up" EVER be truly said enough?
I actually liked AFFC, although I did miss Jon/Dany/Tyrion chapters. AFFC just feels half done, without a full compliment of characters. That being said, it is a quick read.
Yep. He is for all intents and purposes around 17ish-19ish for the action so far.
I read TOR's ASOIAF book recaps - A Read of Ice and Fire - for fun. And in the comments there is this one douche who, like fucking clockwork, hints and giggles and snarls and whispers and shits his pants coming close to spoiling stuff. He just annoys me to no end. Just let the blogger do her reading and recapping…
I agree with this too. It is particularly annoying to have to continually post "spoilers" before posts under the experts column. Before I finished ADWD, I knew to avoid looking stuff up on a wiki of ice and fire, you know, in case of spoilers…that didn't have to be spelled out for me. I'm down with a bit of personal…
I agree with the Nazgul idea - I basically think of them that way, except in silvery-white armor with silvery-white weapons.
