I have an even easier trick to see who wrote the article--the byline!

First time reading a Ratto column?

I struggle to see how any attempted ban would stand to begin with though. It’d be hard to justify banning specific companies from being involved in one industry due to solely being involved in a different but completely legal industry.

I am a lawyer and I can tell you this due process whining has been driving me bonkers. Grand jury proceedings are the closest analogy to what the House is doing - bringing in witnesses to speak to the people who can issue an indictment - and those are confidential specifically to preserve the rightso/ofreputatation of

Legalizing pot is a good thing. But the timing kind of feels like pandering and desperation. Just saying.  Why didn’t he propose this a long time ago?

They also conveniently forget that the Democrats are operating under the rules written by the GOP in 2015.

This. He was fucking “triggered” by the mere sight of a woman wearing a bracelet denouncing domestic violence and couldn’t resist getting In a dig about It? And the organization?... how fucking hard is it to do the right thing and apologize for bullshit that a bunch of other reporters have now verified happened? Now

When I first read her comments I thought she might’ve been trying in a very poorly-worded way to say “I’m bi but I was sticking to women because I was sick of men, but hey look I found a decent man and I can date men too, not only women!” But her clarification hasn’t really gone in this direction, so....yeah.

And suddenly Brett Kavanaugh is conflicted over who to root for.

Exactly. For a reasonably smart organization, you’d expect the Astros know when to stop digging. I guess they’re thinking fawning press coverage will extend to believing them over reporters who have witnesses to the event?

lol, Domingo German and Aroldis Chapman are in the same boat as Osuna, and I’m guessing Brett Gardner isn’t stumping for Elizabeth Warren. Meanwhile, Yankee fans were actively assaulting the Astros’ players and fans throughout the series. You couldn’t have picked a worse counterexample.

My error thought she topped him.

I didn’t mention any racist surrogates - I said he needed to address his own problematic history.

AOC got into politics in the first place because of Sanders and I think she sees him as a guiding light/mentor type. Also, for a lot of self-identified democratic socialists, the fact that Sanders identifies as one and freely uses that term (even if his actual platform is more left-liberal or social democrat in a lot

Sure, except that she had CHIP because of Hillary Clinton, after Hillary was unsuccessful in getting universal healthcare. Incrementalism is reality—-CHIP was the consolation prize in the 1990s, and a really important one.

Agreed. AOC often talks like her allies (democratic socialists, I guess?) are the first to take on these really big fights, when she’s standing on the shoulders of others. It’s not just that Hillary Clinton deserves credit for CHIP. It’s that CHIP was the compromise position after Hillary was unsuccessful in getting

The endorsement makes sense for her and Bernie, now I’m just looking forward to her working hard for the eventual nominee, ‘cause it isn’t going to be Bernie.

Thank you!!!! Perfect comment. Vote Blue No Matter Who.

Yeah, and what about the Irish and Italians!

We’re all pretty girls! I’m glad to vote for Sanders if he’s the nominee - and god knows we’ve needed a voice like AOC’s for a long, long time. I also respect the hard work that HRC has done during the course of her lifetime. There’s so much to like about so many of the women in the Democratic Party.
