Both are true. Gas Prices in California were over $5/gallon for the first time ever right around then. I knew a few people who personally sold vehicles to buy Hybrids citing gas prices as the main reason. 

Could be due to volumes. California buys more cars each year than many states combined. Perhaps the dealers here are getting more priority.

Good point. My one ace up the sleeve is a good friend works at this particular dealer, once we are ready I am going to speak to her about what sort of friends and family discounts they might offer. If I can get an employee discount and still buy it near me without having to fly somewhere it could be a good deal.

I am about to be in the Market for a new Full Size HD truck. I am specifically interested in the Silverado HD with the Gas 6.6l motor, not the Diesel. They are less optioned in the HD lineup from dealers than the Diesels, but they are also 10k cheaper.

The ioniq5 sits about 4 inches off the ground, the profile of that vehicles tells us it is a car not a truck. Suv’s are trucks, hatchbacks are cars..... All this crossover BS is just marketing jazz to avoid certain Cafe standards and get certain tax credits for EVs.

Your definition of “significantly different” is significantly different from my definition. The Ioniq5 and Gold are very close in size, you can see that from the pics posted of Doug DeMaro standing next to both of them further up. 5 inches taller and 14 inches longer is hardly anything when real SUV’s are 20 inches…

Funny enough the RAV4 stopped being an SUV after the first gen and became a Tall Car aka “crossover”. The proportions are all wrong.

The only way I would consider this gen Tundra is if they offered it with the front end from the Sequoia. This is the ugliest truck on the market by a huuuuuge margin.

yeah, there are a ton of them around here in San Diego, they are almost exactly the same proportions as a VW Golf, the quintessential Hatchback.
