At this point, I would take any new feature Hello Games threw at it, even if only because they were curious if it would stick. Right now, the game is just so...bland.

In this case it’s not a matter of whether the game could live up to the hype/expectations or not. In this case, it’s a matter of releasing a functioning product. Hello Games have no control over fan expectations, but they certainly have control over releasing a competent product.

Zero chance it would have met expectations unless they somehow snuck in an entire city building, dogfighting, diplomacy mashup hybrid patch. Gamers have totally turned against this developer, predictably enough.

Everyone should have also should have proof read three sentences (yes, I know what I wrote).

It’s like Ender’s Game, but for cats stuck in trees.

The lack of feedback is probably the biggest complaint I have with the management. The cops needed more detailed profiles showing age, etc. You needed more precise counters on travel times and responses. You needed a better understanding of what was determining the outcomes in arrest attempts.

Considering that the game is set in a time period around the late late 60's early 70's the feminist protests and fire the black police would fit into the scenario, this isn’t a game that is made in 2016 about police in 2016 rather a game made in 2016 about police from another era.

I hope you're trolling because there's no way in hell that *anyone* could be *THIS* retarded

Right, it’s not like the player’s character had a loved one murdered right in front of them... oh wait, that’s right. Not to mention a son who’s current status is “complicated”. And in the middle of looking for their son and seeking revenge, the player took time out of their busy schedule to save Marcy Goddamn Long’s

Listen, she’s mean for a reason. That’s fine. But at some point, after everything you do to help build a settlement and improve the lives of everyone who lives in it, she needs to have at least a minor attitude change. Does she need to bend down on one knee and start kissing your ring in tribute? No. Does she need to

I get that she’s just a fictional character

I’m sure no one else in the commonwealth had anything bad happen right in front of them.

What a huge leap in logic. If you don’t care about a fictional character, suddenly you have no empathy? I guess no video gamer felt anything for any recent terrorist attack or loss of their loved ones or helped a friend out with a problem even though it wouldn’t benefit at all.

This take is just too hot for me.

Seems legit

Never meet your heroes.

It’s the difference of having 24 hours to have editors look over your story in the old days compared to wanting to get your story before another site puts it up, so having no time whatsoever to have others edit the story. Sure, there will be way more mistakes, but that won’t hurt traffic the same way coming out with

You get what you pay for. I was a good writer and left journalism because a ton of companies offered no benefits and wanted me to work for $10 an hour despite being a reporter from high school through college, having a two radio shows and a TV show.

“flavour” ;p

It’s modern journalism, and it’s everywhere, from Gawker to The Age (which is a legitimate news outlet) to Reuters. Maybe it was always this bad, or maybe it’s the rate of news being reported has been shooting up over the years. It doesn’t help we somehow still have two major versions of English (and a lot of local

You bring up some good points that are definitely worth discussing. The conversation over “leaks” in gaming journalism is an interesting one, and one we’ve discussed a LOT internally. (I sit next to Stephen, and he and I have conversations about this sort of thing ALL the time.)
