I also believe the VW ID.4 and maybe some other EV’s use drum brakes. Seems we are going full circle.

That would make sense in terms of room under the hood and to protect it from debris and rocks.  A smashed radiator will end your race day real quick.

FWD and a Northstar no thank you.  I’m a Lincoln man and if it’s going to be FWD it has to be a Continental.  Now if you had a convertible MKVIII

My CPU is a neural-net processor; a learning computer. The more contact I have with humans, the more I learn.”

I’ll add one to the list- Li-ion batteries. Pretty much all new battery powered power tools use Lithium Ion batteries. Li-ion don’t hold as much charge below freezing and may not be able to charge to full capacity after being left out in the cold.

If the Audi version has a similar range for a lower price it may be worth a look.  So far even the cheapest Macan is out of my price range.

Finally a good donor body for all my other Plymouth/Dodge Colt parts cars said no one ever.

Not sure, the San Francisco Chronicle quotes the same numbers from NHTSA but I’m having trouble pulling the numbers from the NHSTA website they link to. Other sites have said there have been only 3 injuries from Waymo crashes and it sounded like those were not Waymo’s fault (rear ended, passenger not wearing seatbelt,

I think the author threw it out as some ridiculous number but me not knowing how much a dealer would charge for brakes (because like you I do them myself) looked up costs and sure enough between $1000 and $1500 for pads and rotors all around is pretty reasonable for any vehicle.

Slammed/stanced to the point where the camber is at 45 degrees. It is both incredibly dangerous and crazy expensive:

What do you mean $1200 for brakes? If we are talking pads and rotors all around that’s what a lot of cars would cost from the dealer. Average price for parts per axle for pads and rotors is $100-200 for parts and $80-100 for labor. On the high end that is $300 x 4=$1200.

Waymo was or may still be in the lead for crashes reported at 150 as of 8/21:

I went ND because this engine maybe makes 100hp and that’s just not enough for what I normally haul.  For this price I could probably find a Ranger, S10, or Dakota with a V6 which would more suit my needs and not cause a heart attack on the highway.

ND, save up a little more and get a 5th gen.  Outside of being a bit larger and not having a manual transmission it is better in most ways.  Quieter, more powerful, and feels nicer on the inside.  Still has offroad capability and the back window goes down.

You pulled a picture of the Limited trim which I agree doesn’t look that good. The SR5, SR5 premium, and TRD have different front ends and have 4wd instead of AWD

People crap on the 3.7 V6 but it was putting out more power than the previous 4.6 3V V8, and was fairly comparable to the Genesis, 350z, and other V6's of the time.  If they had continued to develop it they probably could’ve gotten around 33ohp or more since that’s what the Camaro has in it currently with the 3.6.

That’s pretty deep snow, but I’d give it a go in my 4runner with the all season M+S Michelin’s I have on there now. Looks like the back wheels on the CT are angled which means they are most likely not locked. I know that the motors can determine power to each wheel individually but I think having the rear wheels

Honestly the best kind of flagship would probably be a revived Continental EV with suicide doors.  That’s not to say I wouldn’t love a v8 or 3.5tt MK but I don’t see that happening.

As long as there’s no rust underneath and the hidden light on the dash isn’t anything catastrophic I’ll give it a NP.  I’m very worried about that light being an SRS light which are really no fun.
