update they retract:

I guess there would be 2 options, 1 would be to run power out to the dock which is a long way and a lot of cable to run for a charger and 2 would be to have a set up in the garage or car port (boat port) with a charging system. I’m curious how the hydrofoil works in shallow water and how you trailer it unless those

D16 Z6 it is then!

make it look like an accident, collect the insurance $, boom more capital!

I feel like I would get rid of this engine and throw a Honda K24.  There has been enough RWD builds with K24's in them to make it a sensible replacement engine.

You mean like tweeting something false or misleading and getting tried by the SEC?

If I’m paying this much it better have the one advantage the FJ had over the 4runner- the availability of a 6 speed manual.

I think the biggest problem for the FJ is the existence of the 4runner. The 4runner has 4 actual doors, plenty of offroading capability, and bullet proof reliability.  The engine/trans combo is about the same as it has been for at least a decade and it still sells quite well.

Sounds like you just have to skip the executive package so the rear seats fold down.  Bet it could fit a 70" no problem then.

Lincoln Mark 8 (especially the LSC) was a beast. DOHC 4.6, 280hp/285 lb-ft. Very comfy, decent handling for being a luxury car and held a land speed record.

Gotta say that the GM W-body cars with the LQ1 3.4 DOHC V6 probably lined up better with what was coming out of Europe. The Olds cutlass supreme could be had with a 3.4 making 210 hp and a 5 speed manual. Even the automatics were pretty quick doing 0-60 in the mid 8 second range. Those numbers compare pretty similarly

I was honestly thinking how the electric motor would work in a ‘92-95 civic since it’s specs line up pretty well with a B16 except the torque is instant. Also the motor only weight 80 lbs. so it would come down to how much the battery and trans weighs but I bet the power to weight ratio would be slightly better than a

Does it weigh more or does it way more?

Probably a car made for transporting. Y’know some kind of transporter. Maybe a car that like an E38 735i, luxury, sport suspension, and somehow a manual transmission:

audiworld is the place for old audis IMO. I had a C4 ‘92 Audi 100cs and they were always helpful.

Right, my worst case is a newer used one, out of warranty with high miles that was never maintained. The worst luxury car is a used and abused cheap S-Class.  It’s like the saying that the most expensive Mercedes is the cheapest S-class.

Weirdly enough I would stick with Mazda for luxury. A CX-5 grand touring is a wonderful vehicle. Reliable, leather heated seats, and a sunroof. They are also pretty reasonable in terms of acceleration and handling. You could probably find a solid one around $18k or so.

Used Mercedes S-class.  There are a billion little modules that can break and they use a vacuum pump for the door locks which means that any one problem in the vacuum system can cause a failure of the door locks.  Not to mention all of the things that break will be expensive.

Different place I believe:

For the record its not like the manufacturers didn’t try to make EV cars. Ford had the Focus Electric in 2011 with a range of 76 miles it sold 8 of them that year and had sales that peaked in 2014 with 1,964 sold during the 2011-2018 production run. The Chevy Bolt didn’t come out until 2017 but (despite recalls) has
