I just feel that taking the opposite side of someone who is concerned for the safety of a child is a really weird take.  And you’re probably right its probably solely to irritate large sections of commenters because clicks are clicks.

92-95 honda civic.  They are alway $2500 it is the gold standard.  They have been that much money for the past 10 years and they will always be at $2500.  That gives you $2500 to derice it and put in honda OEM stuff.  I had one close to 300K before I sold it.

It’s a nice price for someone I suppose.  I’m not into hardtop automatic convt.  For my money I’d spend a little extra and get an E46 with a manual trans.

Taking the opposite side of a woman who said her 6 year old daughter has almost got hit by an electric scooter and a bike seems like a shitty take. It seems like she’s just asking for more clearly defined lanes so that her daughter knows what areas are for pedestrians vs. bikes/scooter. That seems reasonable to cater

Yes there are many chargers in parking lots but I tend to not spend more than an hour in any of them whereas realistically a plug in EV needs like 3 hours to charge without destroying the life cycle of the battery (fast and hot charging is not good for batteries as much as we want to just shoot a bunch of high amps

I don’t think electric cars are quite there yet where we can force the American public to buying them. Phev’s are fine if you can plug them in. The fact is the infrastructure is not there (a main and reasonable complaint of the manufacturers) and for some people it never will be. I personally don’t have a good way

I wonder what they are charging for that aviation grade duct tape?  I bet that stuff is like $10 a foot.

“The Chevy Bolt was supposed to be a home run for GM, a mainstream contender in the startup EV market.”

Seems like everyone who now has the privelage to fly is going insane. If I had a dollar for every person duct taped to a seat this year while flying I’d have $2. I have feeling that will increase, sadly.

Its the toyota equivalent of the lincoln continental (the old FWD version not the cool new one) except more reliable, better mpg, and no expensive to repair air suspension.  In other words the perfect car for an old person who goes golfing sometimes and doesn’t want to think about car maintenance.  A comfy cruiser

^this Nissan offers longer loan terms to keep the monthly payments down, something other manufacturers don’t do. They also accept people with below average credit scores. That way people get stuck in a versa on an 8 year note that’s depreciated into oblivion.  But hey, the payments are cheap.

I wouldn’t exactly call nissan reliable.  My friends Rogue is in the shop getting a new transmission right now.  The car has 80k miles on it.  I’ve heard similar horror stories of the trans going below 100k.

I see that you park them front to front so whenever one has a dead battery you can hopefully jump it with the other.

150K, sunroof and gas gauge inop and they still want $20k?  ND.  Also if you are into the old 2.2L check out 034motorsport they’ve done some really cool things with these cars.

Well, looks like if I’m in the market for a sub 3000lb hatchback with between 100 and 150hp then I’ll just have to get another ‘93 civic Si as the available market still has not been able to recreate the pinnacle of engineering that was the 92-95 civic with a manual transmission.

I had aftermarket wheels on mine, but it is hilarious how similar this car is on paper to a ‘93 civic Si, despite the Si having both a power and weight advantage.

This is like a modern version of my ‘93 civic Si.  The Si had 125hp (SOHC 1.6L) and weighed a sprite 2500 lbs.  Does it come with a manual?

That’s a really good question.  I doubt they’ll revert production of new batteries they make money on to support a recall which they are losing money on.  The raw materials required for 60k battery packs would be massive.  Also, I’d hate to be the technician who is stuck getting f’d over trying to beat warranty time

“experts from GM and (battery maker) LG have identified the simultaneous presence of two rare manufacturing defects in the same battery cell as the root cause of battery fires in certain Chevrolet Bolt EVs.” Seems like its a manufacturing defect which in my opinion would make LG liable. I’m sure a lawsuit is

GM to go all electric in 2035, also GM don’t park our cars inside or charge them beyond 90% or deplete below 70 miles or.... Really showing they are ready for primetime with this one.
