I don’t think we should ONLY turn them into jokes but I think it’s a great strategy to lower recruitment of disenfranchised (perceived or actual) kids. There are other excellent tactics for monsters like Eichmann but comedy and farce can be a great tactic to prevent people looking to belong to something from choosing

There certainly is a middle ground, yes. I was just expressing my personal feelings on the issue.

I feel like making the Nazis into cartoons, which Waititi’s movie may or may not do (I haven’t seen it,) isn’t the “best” way to portray them. I think the best way to portray Nazis is to examine what they said and what

I would also note that it’s always a bit weird to see goyim criticizing Jews on how they choose to portray Nazis.

Two groups of people who have never seen any sort of persecution :)

No, you totally are missing the point. The point is you’re wrong. The real-life Nazis, past and present were not as intelligent and capable as perceived and were/are a joke in many ways. You’re suggesting we should keep perpetuating myths about them and never make fun because how are supposed to convince and convert

I was listening to a podcast recently that talked about the recent trend of throwing milkshakes at people. the host (Robert Evans, Behind the Bastards) pointed out that a large portion of Nazis, Alt Right, or any Cult is to portray themselves as noble, as warriors. Humiliating them is one of the best says to get under

There’s that great Lindsay Ellis video essay which notes that modern day Nazis have appropriated cultural representation that was intended to be critical of them, such as singing “Tomorrow Belongs to Me” from Cabaret and unironically hero-worshipping Edward Norton in American History X and Hans Landa in Inglourious

“Hey, have you seen that new murder mystery show on Netflix?”

If Beale Street Could Talk, To Kill a Mockingbird, Brian Banks, When They See Us

Imagine reading about a rape and thinking “How can I make this about the low percentage of false claims and not the pervasive rate of assaults and lack of justice for survivors?” Go back to fapping to hentai, you waste of oxygen.

Apparently they really don’t like movies about rapists who get caught.

Kaitlyn Dever is wonderful and should be in more things.

You mean like If Beale Street Could Talk, To Kill a Mockingbird, Death and the Maiden, Brian Banks, When They See Us, etc, etc.... Yeah there are no movies or tv shows about that? Go back to 8chan, so that you can run away of all the mean women tormenting you for being a man, and refusing to giving you the attention

Cool. You start. It can be your biopic

Can I be happy that Joker won while sad that Polanski did? Can I be half happy for the article?

Do we need this reply every time someone makes a causal generalization? You know they didn’t mean literally everyone.

I guess its “risky” compared to most cookie-cutter superhero movies, but if it WASN’T associated with a comic character would anyone really consider it risky to heavily imitate one of the most acclaimed directors of all time?

So only the US care about the fact that a child rapist got off scott free, got it. And only because they are afraid of getting fired.

Sorry, can’t really find it in myself to be excited that a child rapist who fled from justice still gets to make movies and get awards. My bad, I guess.

Given Tarantino being Tarantino I was terrified of Polanski being given some sort of redemption arc. I was very happy he was basically a non entity in the movie. Though, you're right, of course. He could have dropped the rapist off a cliff and I would have cheered.
