Oh, well, if the actor says something in a promo thing, in that case, I take it all back.

I'm surprised at some of the comments. I thought it already settled that the tragedy isn't that Sandler can't act, but that he won't. That someone who could make amazing films, decides to waste his talents.

I don’t know why

Man, these comments are priceless. No wonder this place is fucking dying.

As a 40-something white guy, can I look down with disgust on said 20 something white guys? Maybe make a snide Gen-X comment that shows my ennui and negativity?

The blurb up top makes it clear what happened. “The AV Club” is a collection of individuals. Some of them thought the film was pretty good, but enough of them really hated it that it made the list. And now the comment section is going to be dominated by 20-something white guys crying about it.

Right just like how we’re all super sad there isn’t a Julia Roberts as Harriet Tubman movie.

Problematic...you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

TLJ was literally everything my childhood self ever wanted from Star Wars. But I guess my childhood doesn’t count.

knives out, like coming out, like they’re gay or something?? isn’t that just forced diversity why can’t we have straight knives anymore???

I don’t get this idea that a 30 hour experience isn’t worth $60 when people regularly spend $20 on a 2 hour movie.

Really great episode, and not least because it gave us so many answers. I love Tim Blake Nelson, and I hope the ending isn’t implying he’s about to get written off the show. Also, he’s just about the only person from this generation with something like a superpower.

The senator’s pun was a groaner, but the support

Yeah. If you’re going to judge a movie by its blocking, you might as well judge a book by the way it uses words!

Nah. He’s right. This film’s subtextual messaging is deeply fucked up. Also, it’s just not a very good movie.

Just to be pedantic: ‘death of the author’ wouldn’t mean that an author ‘doesn’t understand his own creation’, because that theory argues that the reader becomes the arbiter of the work, with the author essentially a limitation on interpretation. In this case author is allowed to read their own work according to

Lucas, in part because he was overly sensitive to what fans wanted.

they have also updated the luke/leia kiss scene.

That’s correct. Scorsese shot Taxi Driver before that guy shot Joker.

So...I guess Adam Driver is just in all the movies now?
