I've never watched Sons! I understand how this season might not be some people's cup of tea, but I definitely don't think it's bad. I'm loving it and Mr. Robot is still one of the most inventive, cinematic shows on TV. Just think it could be tighter with a shorter run time

I think this is a clear example of the extended running time allowing Esmail to let scenes get a lot flabbier and more drawn out than they need to be. The structure of the episode itself is fine - the intro gets us into Elliot's psyche again and allows for the thematic resonance that occurs at the end with Elliot

This! I think it would be totally unrealistic if she was some paragon of moral virtue. I like that she's a pretty ruthless administrator, but also shows moments of humanity by crying and in the conversation with her kids. It makes it way more realistic that she would be so successful
