Once wanted to download ElO’s “Roll Over Beethoven” accidentally downloaded Jerry Lee Lewis’s “Great Balls of Fire” then on searching found his terrible record.

Thirteen-year-olds Dude.

I’m wondering when a director named Paul Anderson dies people will be confused over whether we are talking about the Magnolia guy or the Event Horizon guy. Also, there are too many David Mitchell’s these days. Please eliminate three. I am not a crackpot.

Challenge for AV Club writers/editors: go one day without using the “[X CELEBRITY] shares [Y]” headline format.

I stared at that picture for a solid thirty seconds before I realized that it was Jerry Lee Lewis. It took me another ten seconds to remember that it couldn’t be Jerry Lewis because Jerry Lewis died five years ago.

Costello? He’s fine.

Sisters from other misters?

It seems unlikely that Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan will ever get to play sisters again after the GotG movies, which is too bad

the headline says the shoot started ‘bitter’ and she said the shoot started bitter.

Well, which one is going to get more clicks if you focus on it more? Obviously bitter. Any editor wanting more numbers would go with bitter

But she didn’t mean it was “bitter.” She broke the word into two parts of her answer. Saying “Zoe Saldana says the shoot was bitter” is wildly different than what she actually said/meant.

“’It started bitter in the beginning, because obviously you’re anticipating the end, but we ended on such a sweet note, and I’m just so happy that I once again got to work with great people,’ Saldaña continues.”

Check the headline -  there is difference between the emotional connotations of ‘bitter’ versus ‘bittersweet’.  Saldana clearly said “bittersweet”.

Allons+

I’m all for it if it means Disney is chipping in a little on coast. The price for a couple decent visual effects shots shouldn’t mean 3 episodes a year, BBC

Give me Keith Phipps, Alasdair Wilkins, and Caroline Siede all jamming on every Doctor Who review!

This announcement only says the new episodes will be on Disney+, so I wonder what that means for the previous 13 seasons. They’re streaming on HBO Max right now, a service that is set to disappear next summer. I have to imagine they’ll land somewhere, whether that’s Disney+ or whatever the new WB Discovery service

Follow up question: if coverage returns, can those who covered the show previously also return?

Does this mean you’ll start covering it again, or is that still a no

Allons....y?
