On the bright side, the Nazis were terrible at effectively implementing new technology. They had some shiny toys IRL, but didn't tend to use them very effectively.

I have. I grew up around water-distribution, sewage management, and water-table and aquifer management - my father was a land surveyor, as was my grandfather, one brother is an engineer and surveyor and the other is an architect and landscape architect. It is that simple, because it's simple.
