Well...not dead. The rights were purchased last year, they said they were intent on making another Terminator movie with a new star and an R-rating. It is a wait and see game, but that doesn't mean it is completely dead.

Don't you think you're missing something?

I've never heard of that movie. However, X-Men:FC is well known, as is her pouty performance. But, hey, I haven't seen Hunger Games yet, so maybe she has expanded beyond pouting or acting petulant. My mind is open.
LOL! That was awesome!
You see, THAT is where Battle Royale is stronger. ;)
Well, to be fair, that is all that Jennifer Lawrence did in X-Men:FC so to someone who has not yet seen the movie, it would be logical to think that is all she does. Much like Kristen Stewart wood-face.
I will definitely check this out. Though I think I will wait until after the weekend after the crowds die down.
There is a general lack of proper scifi movies and television right now. What do you expect them to do? Produce their own?
I know, right?! The ego on that guy.
Meh.
Having read both, there ARE some similarities, but they both go in two different directions in terms of story. So, HG didn't really rip off BR. Just was inspired by the same kinds of stuff and took the same general concept but went in a very different way with it and had more world-building in it.
Or how about this: [tvtropes.org]
Huh......I've never read the book and hate all things Twilight, but that whole "7 years after the "invasion of the body snatchers" was successful sort of story" sounds kind of interesting.
Well, I don't know about the Hunger Games movie, I haven't watched that yet. But as far as the Hunger Games book against the Battle Royale original novel that came out in '99. I like the Battle Royale novel better than I liked Hunger Games. Although, Hunger Games was a decent read to be sure. As far as every review…

No, the man getting his head burned off in the above image was a "replacement" Midnighter in the "Transfer of Power" storyline, not the real Midnighter.
Whoa. No, that is not true. Battle Royale was an underdog hit long before Suzanne Collins wrote the Hunger Games.
"And what do you use to stop an army of vampires?"
"The trailers made everyone who didn't know about the books (i.e most people), scratched their heads and wondered "John who? The guy from ER?""
