I wonder how games like Skyrim would work with a touchscreen. I guess it would be too odd to use both the screen and keyboard if thT even were a option.

This is actually a really good idea, to put up a roof-top ad for Google Maps. I'm now surprised advertisers don't already put them up in heavily googled areas like downtowns.

They done bursted already, about two years ago.

For most people it would have been impractical to live too far from your place of work in, say, a suburb.

Soviet Invasion 1979?

"there's nothing wrong with a little revenge online. The consequences are so low, the results so ephemeral".

In 2002 - when I was 10-11 - I really liked the soundtrack of the first Harry Potter movie, so I borrowed the CD from the library and transferred it to cassette by playing it right next to a tape recorder in a quiet room.

Actually that kind of gramophone would have been about 10-20 years out of date by Benny Goodman and Nat King Cole's day.

Born 1991 here. Sure I remember. A MUD is one of those weird all-text internet games I encountered as a kid, Gopher is something that has to do with the internet; something about a GUI?, and dial-up internet made downloads and page clicks a time investment and Youtube unworkable.

Seeing this video, I feel less ashamed of the clothes I wore as a kid.

Ever heard the story of the father who found his son smoking cigarettes, forced him to smoke the whole pack to condition him against smoking, and it killed him?

Exactly!

Well in a sense it is one of those books. Only its not a books.

Many kids don't take the message seriously though. Ever heard a someone joke, "c'mon, lets go smoke and get cancer?" I think these pictures make the potential of future ill-health less abstract.

But very little brand recognition if you're a non-smoker. Personally I think I only know them through 'Mad Men' and I'm not sure how many of those still exist.

I once was able to tell someone was Korean and am very proud of it. They tend to be lighter skinned you see; that's what I assume at least.

Maybe, but don't forget that, chances are, the person you photograph would be someone you already know and have added either as a friend or friend's friend. The app would just be doing what you could do yourself, in theory.

While I understand your moral argument I don't think its really a very useful idea. I'm not saying its neccessarily "right" to steal if the terms are unreasonable, I'm just saying that if the terms are unreasonable then the merchant has to expect consequences, namely, stealing. Ultimately the consumer doesnt care

Just out of curiosity, what would people think of pirating a movie, song, or tv show made over 50 years ago, whose creators are mostly all dead now, which has already made its profit, and isn't even owned by the original distrobution company anymore?
