Maybe those poles are the Chinese equivalent of caution signs.

Wasn't there an incident a few months ago in China where a baby was run over and nobody helped her? Good to see selfishness isn't actually an endemic problem there.

Well, look at the bright side. Once NK is gone we won't have any crazies left! Besides Iran, of course, and they're semi-sane. All there'll be left are petty dictators, corrupt yet still developing countries, and Castro, who's cool.

Yeah but when you have a lot of anecdotes collected then you get a good evidence and thus, quite a bit of backing for your case that the author is wrong.

Well a lot us have tapes around that we haven't transfered yet, not just profs.

Of course, in the real 1994 they wouldn't have just analoged all the stuff we do digitally now, ie, instead of sending a paper photo to him they would have done ... something else.

Its so interesting how many people here think its, y'know, typical to build your own computer. Oh, there's nothing wrong with doing that, don't get me wrong, but it is just a niche. Getting worked at the idea that most people do in fact use laptops now is a little like an audiophile getting worked up at the existence

I get that argument, but on the other hand the dog doesn't seem that distressed.

Oh, are eye transplants already feasible?

I feel a TV show would only be appropriate really for books 3-6. Much of 1 and 2 is really just filler material (and very short anyways) and 7 isn't episodic enough. For a HP tv show to work either you'd have to add/change a great deal of material or sludge through two fairly boring seasons before you get to the good

Oh dear. The Chinese have crossed the Pacific and have made the white Americans their wage-slaves. How dystopian. Yellow peril indeed.

That doesn't look like 1050 slices of bacon at all. At Wendys, a full pan of bacon would have anywhere from 120-180 slices. That sandwich looks like it has 3 pans, tops.

I once had a quadruple baconator. I felt it inside of me for the following 2 or 3 days.

Good thing there's a ladder at the bottom of that abyss. A ladder... made of millions upon millions of dollars.

This is actually a lot more advanced than I was expecting.

I'd try to contact people I knew would be influential in the future and try to tell them about their future lives.

I agree, though personally I find that internal dialogs are rather performative. Ever tried to express something in words inside your head, struggled with it because you weren't sure exactly what phrasing and words you should use, and then stopped because you figured you knew what you meant anyways? Thought is

When they say "talking to yourself", does that mean actually talking to yourself, or just expressing your internal thoughts in the form of a conversation?

I'm assuming that the writer meant computers with graphical displays, but even that's wrong.

Is ice made of freon then and mist made of jitterbeans?
