@SAThorn: Well... the eyeglasses are already possible.

@Strizo: Too long a voyage?

@Ozzie, The Last Hairbender: Or, every working satellite or ship can be added to its database of space objects, and whenever it captures something that's not on the list, it would destroy it.

If they had made the Voyager today, what would have they recorded the data on? A Gold phonograph disc would probably be easier for aliens to decode than a CD or .... cassette.

The King of Jazz also had a colour sound cartoon included in the film proper, which shows how Paul Whiteman became the 'king of Jazz'. He went to Africa and played a violin, which made the jungle animals start to dance and throw things around. A monkey threw a coconut at Whiteman, and a crown-shaped blister grew out

@Richie Martin: Hey, if you want the government to help you sometime, and agree that all Americans are equal, then you need to support the government when it tries to help other people.

@Voldy1: So did I. It was weird to see Jobs associated with such mundane things as speeding tickets or parking spots.

@EvanSei: That gets to the point exactly. This tape deck has decades of research behind it, while our mp3 playerss are still relatively new. But let's see what they'll be like in 2030 once the tech has essentially matured.

@The Lab: No, they haven't replaced watches- they've replaced digital watches, so the gold ones are safe for now.

@Damage: Yeah, but how expensive are our mp3s and how much easier are they to use?

If that ad targeted 40-year olds, and their kids were young teens... then their grand children were probably born around the 1980s/'90s and their great grandchildren will be born in the '10s and '20s, or even now.

@Markarian: You have some unusually advanced family members. MY 90 year old grandmother, when shown an iPad, said it must be the end of the world because she'd never seen anything like it in her life.

@Armuun: the Lack of a high school education stops people from making enough money to afford internet access.

@AndroFanatic: What aree those glowing rectangles supposed to be and how are they high tech?

@SkipErnst: A seriously messed up choice that makes life incredibly difficult (with the exception of meat).

@miamiheat: perhaps they surf through their relatives?

@JabbaB: Time passes. The 50 and 60 year old from the mid 90s, when the internet first became popular of course, are now seniors, and the 70 and 80 year olds are now in their 80s and 90s, or dead. It makes perfect sense that seniors today are more connected, they're more likely to have used the net in the workplace.
