That is your interpretation, not my intention :)

I made that comment two years ago while I was having chemotherapy. Just very nauseous at the time. Comments can’t be deleted, so here we are.

*Walliams. It’s David Walliams. :)

A “small sect”?

If you get takeout as often as you say, you should by now be well rehearsed at “no single-use plastics, no styrofoam please”.

“...when YOU order”. Don’t pass the buck - state yor requests clearly & firmly. If you had a food allergy I'd bet you wouldn't leave the onus on someone else. :)

Tell them you don’t want that stuff when you order! YOU have the power - don’t just take what’s handed to you.

I ALWAYS investigate before ordering: “What kind of containers do you use for takeout?”. If the answer is not an environmentally friendly one, I tell them I won’t be ordering from them today and hope they will switch their containers. I check back occasionally too.

Just an FYI: Foil is deadly to the critters that will try to eat that grease.

Boiled eggs? I use a vegetable peeler for getting shards of fresh horseradish on them. A nice little kick in the morning. :)

White clover is an excellent replacement for a lawn - low-growing, soft to walk on, smells nice, tolerates pet urine, no mowing, less need for watering, saves $$$.

I stopped at a friend’s house; the guys were in the living room, day-drinking with the curtains closed. They said the same thing: “we’re not alcoholics - alcoholics go to meetings. We’re just a bunch of drunks.”. :)

The way you said “They mainly just show up at events” gave me the impression you thought they just swanned in when they felt like it.

The Countess of Wessex has long been my very favorite royal. Sophie is warm, elegant, and accomplished at doing what the monarchy is meant to do - uphold a Royal Standard. Lovely woman.

Just a note to let you know that none of this works in the way you have outlined. These events are a very real obligation, not a matter of whimsy.
