They do it because the majority of bronies can't pick up on social cues. Lots of them are isolated socially to begin with, they never learn how to socialize with other people. Others fall somewhere in the autistic spectrum. Either way, people like this creep out regular people.

No parent should let their children go to these. While some of the guys are fine, a lot of bronies aren't people children should be around.
